Aphra Behn, a 16th century writer and spy composes an "eye-witness" piece delineating the events a African American royal slave. She states that she was an eye-witness to the events, giving expiclit details yet in the era she was living in travling was unheard and unthought of. Aphra Behn was not wealthy due to the rulership of the King and Queen who opposed the theatre therefore causing Behn's income to decrease significantly. With the events of the time period and her income it makes it difficult to believe that Aphra was even there, that she could have made up the story in order to gain wealth and sucess, The story however was startling and interesing at the same time. I truly was not expecting a man who loved his wife to murder her so easily. I can definitly see why Aphra Behn was known from this work.
